Okay so I just finished reading pages 30-49 and let me say that the book didn't get much better :[ It's still making me really confused. I think part of the reason is I can't really focus on whats going on because I get bored of it easily. My bad... So anyway one quote that i really like in this section is "There are somethings worth more than money. He pointed his chin at the springs and around at the narrow canyon. This is where we come from, see. thissand, this stone, these trees, the vines, all the wildflowers. This earth keeps us going." (45) I like this quote because I think it has alot of meaning not only for the book but for real life. In the book I think the quote relates to the pueblo legends and what Tayo will find when he continues his quest for comfort in pain. In the real world it relates to how we all need to learn to appreciate the smaller things in life.

Thanks for your post Tehani...please be mindful of when you are posting.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's confusing but I think that's what makes it somewhat better cause you have to use critical thinking and all.
ReplyDeleteIf you annotate it, it makes it so much easier. Just re read things, I think everything is in methaphors and does not mean actually what it says.
ReplyDeleteI also like the quote you chose because it was very earth like.
